Behold, I will send for many fishermen, says the LORD, and they shall fish them; and afterwards will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

To go into the openings in the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the earth.

And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says the LORD, and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will completely destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

The whole city shall flee at the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man shall dwell therein.

Behold, I will bring terror upon you, says the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that are around you; and you shall be driven out every man straight ahead; and none shall gather up him that wanders.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine: put your hand again into the baskets like a grape gatherer.

They hunt our steps, so that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end has come.

Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

It is my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.

The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness, that lo, the days shall come upon you that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

The good man has perished out of the earth, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men who are settled on their lees: who say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the edge of your robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the edge of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you; yet you hunt my soul to take it.

Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains.
