As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decreases and dries up:

Should I lie, contrary to my being right? my wound is incurable, though I have not transgressed.

My soul is also greatly troubled: but you, O LORD, how long?

Have you completely rejected Judah? has your soul loathed Zion? why have you stricken us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!

Why do you cry for your affliction? your sorrow is incurable for the multitude of your iniquity: because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you.

Therefore shall you give presents to Moresheth-gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.

For her wound is incurable; for it has come to Judah; he has come to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
