Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.

And Abraham drew near, and said, Will you also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

And you, Solomon my son, be sure you know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever.

And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

Not for any injustice in my hands: also my prayer is pure.

The righteous also shall keep to his way, and he that has clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

If I wash myself with melted snow, and make my hands ever so clean;

SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but your law do I love.

The LORD is near to all those who call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands has he recompensed me.

He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

I will wash my hands in innocence: so will I go round about your altar, O LORD:

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Truly I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all your works.

Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined to them shall fall by the sword.

Therefore the Lord said, Seeing that this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, like a nation that did righteousness, and did not forsake the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts reside within you?

You drew near in the day that I called upon you: you said, Fear not.

Put away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Therefore say to them, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Turn to me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will turn to you, says the LORD of hosts.

Even from the days of your fathers you have gone away from my ordinances, and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you said, How shall we return?

Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.

Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but that rather a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see to it yourselves.

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without anger and doubting.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by which we draw near to God.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easily approached, full of mercy and good fruits, without bias, and without hypocrisy.

Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit for genuine love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart earnestly:

This represents baptism which also now saves us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the response of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

And every one that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

And Saul built an altar unto the LORD: the same was the first altar that he built unto the LORD.
