Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he has been tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said to him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

And said, I plead with you, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keeps covenant and mercy for those who love him and observe his commandments:

But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty:

The LORD tests the righteous: but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates.

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept your word.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn your statutes.

I know, O LORD, that your judgments are right, and that you in faithfulness have afflicted me.

But let all those that put their trust in you rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because you defend them: let them also that love your name be joyful in you.

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and teach him out of your law;

And showing mercy unto thousands of those who love me, and keep my commandments.

The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD tests the hearts.

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, except you, what he has prepared for him that waits for him.

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them as gold is tested: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

And you shall be hated by all men for my name’s sake: but he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.

But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love him.

But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him.

And everyone who strives for the victory is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

You shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proves you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Know therefore that the LORD your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and mercy with those who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or not.

Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but to all those also who love his appearing.

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle of afflictions;

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, My son, do not despise the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by him:

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

Behold, we consider them happy who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the purpose of the Lord; that the Lord is full of compassion, and of tender mercy.

But if you suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

But rejoice, to the extent that you are sharers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy.

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: by them he is evil spoken of, but by you he is glorified.

But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that does not fade away.

We love him, because he first loved us.

Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall put some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

To him who overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am seated with my Father in his throne.
