And God said to Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made you.

And he said, Your name shall be called no longer Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince have you power with God and with men, and have prevailed.

The LORD has made known his salvation: his righteousness has he openly shown in the sight of the heathen.

And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning: afterward you shall be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Open the gates, so that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.

The LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

Even to them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring to you the strength of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

You shall also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shall suck the breast of kings: and you shall know that I the LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

For as the earth brings forth her bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring up; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

And their descendents shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the people which the LORD has blessed.

And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and you shall be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzi-bah, and your land Beulah: for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married.

And you shall leave your name as a curse to my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay you, and call his servants by another name:

That you may feed, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that you may drink deeply, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall you suck, you shall be carried upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those of them who escape to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the lands afar off, beyond the sea, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name with which she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I bring about for it.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he goes through, both treads down, and tears in pieces, and none can deliver.

And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that for a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

That Christ would suffer, and that he would be the first that should rise from the dead, and would show light to the people, and to the Gentiles.

But the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bring my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; of which I Paul am made a minister;

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him who overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he who receives it.

He who overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
