We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places like dead men.

They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

But the word of the LORD was to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both houses of Israel, for a trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it thick darkness.

He has set me in dark places, as those who are dead from of old.

They have wandered like blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.

And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Therefore there shall be night for you, so that you shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark for you, so that you shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, so that darkness does not come upon you: for he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes.

He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; so that they would not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I would heal them.

And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: and you shall be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save you.

But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he goes, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
