And when Abram was ninety nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.

And they buried him in his own sepulchers, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.

There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.

Take note of the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

The way of the just is uprightness: you, Most Upright, do weigh the path of the just.

Thus says the LORD, Stand in the ways, and look, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.

They have made her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though they caused terror in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with those who go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of those who are slain.

But go your way till the end be: for you shall rest, and stand in your lot at the end of the days.

His lord said to him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of your lord.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word:

And he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

For we know that if our earthly house in this dwelling place is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

For I am in a dilemma between the two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord after this time: Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
