And Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother. And the king of Israel said to him, Nay: for the LORD has called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carries away.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

​Those who trust in the LORD shall be like mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but remains for ever.

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

For those who are blessed by him shall inherit the earth; and those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.

The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it for ever.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and truly you shall be fed.

Wait for the LORD, and keep to his way, and he shall exalt you to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait for the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, while living, and in his anger.

O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you.

He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

For you have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stump shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

You shall toss them up, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and you shall rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.

Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, you that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge who set up the wood of their sculptured image, and pray to a god that cannot save.

Thus says the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause the desolate inheritances to be inhabited;

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.

Your people also shall all be righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

But you are those who forsake the LORD, who forget my holy mountain, who prepare a table for their idols, and who furnish the drink offering for their number.

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says the LORD.

And I will bring forth a people out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and my elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.

But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble: for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.

Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from the passes: for all your lovers are destroyed.

The wind shall eat up all your shepherds, and your lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shall you be ashamed and astonished for all your wickedness.

All your lovers have forgotten you; they do not seek you; for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of your iniquity; because your sins were increased.

For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud, and like the early dew that passes away, like the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind away from the floor, and like the smoke out of the chimney.

So shall you know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her any more.

Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried out, and they would not hear; so they cried out, and I would not hear, says the LORD of hosts:

Go and cry unto the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
