When you lie down, you shall not be afraid: yea, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning: afterward you shall be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and those who return with righteousness.

That you shall take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How the oppressor has ceased! the golden city ceased!

Let my outcasts dwell with you, Moab; be a shelter to them from the face of the plunderer: for the extortioner is at an end, the plunderer ceases, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Open the gates, so that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Your heart shall meditate on terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver of payments? where is he that counted the towers?

Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

And I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunk with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

And forget the LORD your maker, who has stretched out the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and have feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be perplexed, for you shall not be put to shame: for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.

Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

Your people also shall all be righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof goes forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burns.

For you have broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from this time forwards even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Therefore fear not, O my servant Jacob, says the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save you from afar, and your descendents from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be at rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

Their children also shall be as formerly, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all who oppress them.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring back their captivity; The LORD bless you, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he comes and rains righteousness upon you.

Thus says the LORD; I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.

And I will encamp around my house because of the army, because of him who passes by, and because of him who returns: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with my eyes.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
