Are you not our God, who did drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and gave it to the descendents of Abraham your friend for ever?
For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cling to the house of Jacob.
Therefore thus says the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now become pale.
But now thus says the LORD who created you, O Jacob, and he who formed you, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are mine.
You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be any after me.
Doubtless you are our father, though Abraham is ignorant of us, and Israel does not acknowledge us: you, O LORD, are our father, our redeemer; your name is from everlasting.
Do you not consider what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD has chosen, he has even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no longer a nation before them.
And do not think to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father: for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.
What then is the purpose of the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the offspring should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a special people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
