By these were the lands of the Gentiles beyond the sea divided in their lands; every one according to his tongue, according to their families, in their nations.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the lands beyond the sea.

The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling bush before the whirlwind.

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for why should he be considered?

Moreover the multitude of your strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away: yea, it shall be in an instant suddenly.

It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in:

The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.

And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those of them who escape to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the lands afar off, beyond the sea, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his anger the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to endure his indignation.

After this shall he turn his face to the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own advantage shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn back upon him.

And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make you to eat grass like oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can hold back his hand, or say to him, What are you doing?

The LORD will be terrible to them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the lands of the heathen beyond the sea.
