Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I mourned like a dove: my eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; come and help me.
Establish it now, provide me a pledge with you; who is he that will make an agreement with me?
I am a brother to wild beasts, and a companion to owls.
My eyes fail for your word, saying, When will you comfort me?
Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit fails: do not hide your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit.
Attend to me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried up: my eyes fail while I wait for my God.
We all roar like bears, and mourn bitterly like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
As for us, our eyes continually failed looking for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
But those who escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be taken away, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.
But Nineveh is from of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
By so much was Jesus made a guarantee of a better covenant.
