Do not listen to Hezekiah: for thus says the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me: and every one of you will eat from his vine, and every one from his fig tree, and every one of you will drink the waters of his own cistern;

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray you, take a blessing from your servant.

He who keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit of it: so he that waits on his master shall be honored.

Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well.

Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.

But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken it.

In that day, says the LORD of hosts, shall you invite every man his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree.

Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they should go on ahead to you, and prepare beforehand your generosity, of which you had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of generosity, and not as of compulsion.

And the elders of Jabesh said to him, Give us seven days’ delay, that we may send messengers to all the territory of Israel: and then, if there be no man to save us, we will come out to you.

And now this blessing which your handmaid has brought to my lord, let it even be given to the young men that follow my lord.
