And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a sash a tear; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a girdle a covering of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

Lament like a virgin clothed with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.

I also will do this to you; I will even appoint over you terror, a wasting disease, and the burning fever, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

Make yourself bald, and cut your hair for your delicate children; enlarge your baldness like the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from you.

The LORD shall strike you with a wasting disease, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blight, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish.

They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of interweaving the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of garments;

And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, who has power over these plagues: and they did not repent to give him glory.

And the kings of the earth who have committed fornication and lived in indulgence with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
