Moreover the LORD says, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched out necks and wanton eyes, walking and swaying as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

A high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

Go forth, O you daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown with which his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.

And the daughter of Zion is left as a shed in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

The earth mourns and fades away, the world wears out and fades away, the haughty people of the earth become feeble.

For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah the support and the staff, the whole provision of bread, and the whole provision of water,

Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will uncover their secret parts.

In that day the Lord will take away the luster of their tinkling ornaments around their feet, and their hair nets, and their crescent necklaces,

And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have cleansed the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

In that day shall you not be ashamed of all your doings, in which you have transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of you those who rejoice in your pride, and you shall no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting upon a donkey, and a colt the foal of a donkey.

But Jesus turning to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
