The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and their princes: for you have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

Will he reprove you out of fear of you? will he enter with you into judgment?

The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge from the poor.

For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

He lies in wait concealed as a lion in his den: he lies in wait to catch the poor: he catches the poor, when he draws him into his net.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the LORD.

And do not enter into judgment with your servant: for in your sight shall no man living be justified.

There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor off of the earth, and the needy from among men.

Woe unto those who decree unrighteous decrees, and that write oppression which they have prescribed;

To turn aside the needy from obtaining justice, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with justice for the meek of the earth: and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill your root with famine, and he shall slay your remnant.

The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on them:

For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

Behold, you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you shall not fast as you do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they have become great, and grown rich.

Has oppressed the poor and needy, has plundered by violence, has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,

And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.

As I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, says the Lord GOD.

And if you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy anything from your neighbor’s hand, you shall not oppress one another:

You shall not therefore oppress one another; but you shall fear your God: for I am the LORD your God.

Who covet the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in to the same maid, to profane my holy name:

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are in the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

Woe to those who devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Who also eat the flesh of my people, and strip their skin off from them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as if for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the small measure that is abominable?

Hear another parable: There was a certain head of a household, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and rented it out to farmers, and went into a far country:

But you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
