Isaiah 23:13

Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran, and dwelt there.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confuse the language of all the earth: and from there did the LORD scatter them abroad on the face of all the earth.

And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

At that time Berodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

Therefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh from among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and took him to Babylon.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans divided into three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have taken them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.

Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

O Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in your hand is my indignation.

However he does not so intend, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellence, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of mournful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

They shall be left together for the birds of the mountains, and for the beasts of the earth: and the birds shall spend the summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall spend the winter upon them.

Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought low all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn down: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyre, for the service that he had served against it:

The king spoke, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs.

Then he came out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Haran: and from there, when his father was dead, he came into this land, in which you now dwell.
