Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall be moved out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cling to the house of Jacob.
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for you shall no longer be called tender and delicate.
Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against those who dwell in the midst of those who rise up against me, a destroying wind;
We are brought into confusion, because we have heard reproach: shame has covered our faces: for strangers have come into the sanctuaries of the LORD’S house.
And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire returning in upon itself, and a brightness was around it, and out of the midst thereof as the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.
And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken beside all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth have gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth like the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
