The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a heap of ruins.

Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?

The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.

The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir to those who were his heirs, says the LORD.

Therefore I will make Samaria like a heap of the field, and like a place for planting a vineyard: and I will pour down her stones into the valley, and I will uncover her foundations.

Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the house like the high places of the forest.

The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the place it will rest: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.

And requested from him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

And you shall gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shall burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof completely, for the LORD your God: and it shall be a heap of ruins for ever; it shall not be built again.
