Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth shall you mourn; surely they are stricken.

And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land every man dropped his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; however the stone slingers went around it, and struck it.

Moreover those who were near them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and food, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.

And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

Therefore my heart shall lament like a harp for Moab, and my inward parts for Kir-haresh.

And when they shall say to you, Seek after those who have familiar spirits, and wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek after their God? for the living should they go to the dead?

Moab is put to shame; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell it in Arnon, that Moab is laid waste,

Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; my heart shall mourn for the men of Kir-heres.
