And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear, and from the hard service with which you were made to serve,
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand as a banner for the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Speak kindly to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she has received from the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.
And you, even yourself, shall cease from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you do not know: for you have kindled a fire in my anger, which shall burn for ever.
Therefore fear not, O my servant Jacob, says the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save you from afar, and your descendents from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be at rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
For it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke off from your neck, and will burst your bonds, and strangers shall no more be served by him:
Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
And there shall be no more a piercing brier to the house of Israel, nor any painful thorn among all who are round about them, who despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
Therefore shall you serve your enemies which the LORD shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon your neck, until he has destroyed you.
