Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: lay waste and utterly destroy after them, says the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded you.

For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall go, they shall depart, both man and beast.

Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall drag them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroys all the earth: and I will stretch out my hand upon you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.

And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.

And Babylon shall become heaps of ruins, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and a hissing, without an inhabitant.

Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land in which no man dwells, neither does any son of man pass thereby.
