Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a disgrace among all people:
In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and took Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled my inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.
And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when you entered, you defiled my land, and made my heritage an abomination.
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s food, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of my offerings, and eat it; but the LORD does not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
You shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: so that the land, to which I bring you to dwell therein, does not vomit you out.
Therefore thus says the LORD; Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you shall die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity out of his land.
And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked off of the land to which you go to possess it.
And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I spoke to you, that you should see it no more again: and there you shall be sold to your enemies as male and female slaves, and no man shall buy you.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon completely perish off of the land to which you go over Jordan to possess it; you shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall completely be destroyed.
Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things have come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he has destroyed you off of this good land which the LORD your God has given you.
