And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth: let your word, I pray you, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I hold back? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

Where are now your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will you do at the end of it?

Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place for traveling men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped iniquity; you have eaten the fruit of lies: because you trusted in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.

Ephraim surrounds me with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet rules with God, and is faithful with the saints.

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they burst out, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.

Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the false commandment.

In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.

For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and you walk in their counsels; that I should make you a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing: therefore you shall bear the reproach of my people.

So that they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asks, and the judge asks for a reward; and the great man, he speaks his mischievous desire: so they weave it together.

Who knowing the judgment of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in those who do them.

They are of the world: therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
