And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said to David, The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

And David’s heart struck him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in what I have done: and now, I plead with you, O LORD, take away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.

And why do you not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and you shall seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

Accept, I plead with you, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me your judgments.

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay your vows to the most High:

For you do not desire sacrifice; else would I give it: you do not delight in burnt offering.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins: return to me; for I have redeemed you.

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin cleansed away.

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the LORD, and I will not have anger for ever.

He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.

And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.

For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare your people, O LORD, and give not your heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: why should they say among the people, Where is their God?

But I will sacrifice unto you with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

And he answered and spoke to those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with a change of garments.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but beat upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.

For this is my covenant to them, when I shall take away their sins.

Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a special people, zealous for good works.

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

You also, as living stones, are built up into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

And you know that he appeared to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
