And they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very bitter lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.
And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I kill my brother Jacob.
And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a great mourning to the Egyptians: therefore the name of it was called Abel-mizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spoke to the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goes to his lasting home, and the mourners go about the streets:
These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side the of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain before the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
