And when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him.

Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

You have pushed strongly at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.

Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
