Then Judah came near to him, and said, Oh my lord, let your servant, I pray you, speak a word in my lord’s ears, and let not your anger burn against your servant: for you are even as Pharaoh.

And he said to him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Perhaps there shall be thirty found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Perhaps ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.

And he said to them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:

For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and bowed down and showed respect to my sheaf.

And his brothers said to him, Shall you indeed reign over us? or shall you indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

You shall be over my house, and according to your word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than you.

And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without you shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, go up in peace to your father.

Then the woman said, Let your handmaid, I pray you, speak a word to my lord the king. And he said, Say on.

But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s commandment by his officers: therefore was the king very angry, and his anger burned in him.

Mark well, O Job, listen to me: hold your peace, and I will speak.

How long, LORD? will you be angry for ever? shall your jealousy burn like fire?

And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord grow hot: you know the people, that they are set on mischief.

The king’s anger is as the roaring of a lion; but his favor is as dew upon the grass.

Now if you be ready that at the time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if you do not worship, you shall be thrown the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God who shall deliver you out of my hands?

And for the majesty that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.

For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son:

Men and kindred, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us to this day.
