Speak to the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:

And if any one of the common people sins through ignorance, while he does something against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and is guilty;

Nor should we commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day twenty three thousand.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as is fitting for saints;

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she dies: because she has done folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shall you put evil away from among you.

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, unsanctified passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry,

And besides this they learn to be idle, wandering around from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

Marriage is honorable for all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he has: because he has transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he has done folly in Israel.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
