Hear us, my lord: you are a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchers bury your dead; none of us shall withhold from you his sepulcher, so that you may bury your dead.

And he said, What do you mean by all this herd which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:

If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Your servant Ben-hadad says, I pray you, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.

And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord grow hot: you know the people, that they are set on mischief.

A soft answer turns away wrath: but painful words stir up anger.
