So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken to him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy five years old when he departed out of Haran.

And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said to him.

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

And said, By myself have I sworn, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son:

And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.

Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision profits anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should later receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing where he went.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
