Now the LORD had said to Abram, Leave your country, and your kindred, and your father’s house, and go to a land that I will show you:

And the LORD appeared to Abram, and said, To your descendents will I give this land: and there he built an altar to the LORD, who appeared to him.

But you shall go to my father’s house, and to my kindred, and take a wife to my son.

And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land: must I bring your son again to the land from where you came?

And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and directed him, and said to him, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father; and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother.

And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begot sons and daughters.

And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

Then his father and his mother said to him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you go to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said to his father, Get her for me; for she pleases me well.
