For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.
And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and cleaved the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.
And your descendents shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
And you shall swear, The LORD lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
But this thing I commanded them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.
You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your offspring shall all the peoples of the earth be blessed.
Now to Abraham and his offspring were the promises made. He did not say, And to offsprings, as of many; but as of one, And to your offspring, which is Christ.
Therefore the LORD God of Israel says, I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD says, Be it far from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
