And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar to the LORD.

Except only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

And the LORD appeared to him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

And Abraham said, I will swear.

And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.

Thus they made a covenant at Beer-sheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his army, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.

That she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, See, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice:

For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.

And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians could not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination to the Egyptians.

And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his own people, and looked on their burdens: and he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his own people.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

And they shall listen to your voice: and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has met with us: and now let us go, we appeal to you, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free; that none should be served by them, that is, by a Jew his brother.

And he said to them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.

And they came to the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they carried it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

And Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the descendents of Abraham? So am I.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Then said the princes of the Philistines, What are these Hebrews doing here? And Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he came to me, to this day?

And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes torn, and with earth upon his head.
