By these were the lands of the Gentiles beyond the sea divided in their lands; every one according to his tongue, according to their families, in their nations.

These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

And to Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

And the king Ahasuerus imposed a tribute on the land, and on the islands of the sea.

The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the lands beyond the sea.

Therefore glorify the LORD in the fires of affliction, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he takes up the isles as a very little thing.

The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

Sing to the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, you that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has set judgment in the earth: and the islands shall wait for his law.

Listen, O isles, to me; and obey my words, you people, from afar; The LORD has called me from the womb; from the body of my mother has he made mention of my name.

My righteousness is near; my salvation has gone forth, and my arms shall judge the people; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.

According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.

Surely the lands beyond the sea shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

And all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the lands which are beyond the sea,

Thus says the Lord GOD to Tyre; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of you?

Now shall the isles tremble in the day of your fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at your departure.

After this shall he turn his face to the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own advantage shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn back upon him.

The LORD will be terrible to them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the lands of the heathen beyond the sea.

When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
