And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my mourning; and having torn my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,
Whatever prayer and request be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and request unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
For Solomon had made a brass scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,
And Moses said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is the LORD’S.
And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread out his hands to the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
And when we had completed those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we knelt down on the shore, and prayed.
