And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

And made known to them your holy sabbath, and commanded them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses your servant:

See, for the LORD has given you the sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days; remain ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whoever does work therein shall be put to death.

Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the sabbath from polluting it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.

Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do any work, but hallow the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.

And I polluted them in their own gifts to their idols, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.

And the heathen shall know that I the LORD sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all my assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

And you shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

Neither shall he profane his descendents among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.

Only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a blemish; so that he does not profane my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.

You shall sanctify him therefore; for he offers the bread of your God: he shall be holy unto you: for I the LORD, who sanctifies you, am holy.

Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

It shall be to you a sabbath of rest, and you shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening until evening, shall you celebrate your sabbath.

Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: you shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard.

Let no one therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or with respect to a holy day, or the new moon, or the sabbath days:

And may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
