Exodus 27:21

In the tabernacle of the congregation outside the veil, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations for the children of Israel.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the showbread also they set in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we obey the instruction of the LORD our God; but you have forsaken him.

​Behold, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.

And this day shall be to you for a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; you shall keep it as a feast by an ordinance for ever.

As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

And you shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.

And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in to the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near to the altar to minister in the holy place; that they do not bear iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever to him and his descendents after him.

And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’ by a statute for ever from the children of Israel: for it is a heave offering: and it shall be a heave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their heave offering unto the LORD.

This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there to you.

And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.

So they shall wash their hands and their feet, so that they do not die: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his descendents throughout their generations.

And you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with you: it shall be unto you most holy.

And when Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.

And you shall put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the veil.

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:

And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

And they shall no longer offer their sacrifices to devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever to them throughout their generations.

And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears, until the very same day that you have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

And you shall proclaim on the very same day, that it may be a holy convocation unto you: you shall do no common work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.

Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron tend to it from the evening until the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.

And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.

It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that you eat neither fat nor blood.

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof round about upon the altar.

And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the food offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the frankincense which is upon the food offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor, even the memorial of it, unto the LORD.

Which the LORD commanded to be given them by the children of Israel, in the day that he anointed them, by a statute forever throughout their generations.

For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.

And you shall have the responsibilities of the sanctuary, and the responsibilities of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.

And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkles the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that touches the water of separation shall be unclean until evening.

So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

And you shall bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and you shall gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

The people who sat in darkness saw great light; and to those who sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

He was a burning and a shining light: and you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; to which you do well that you pay attention, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the day star arises in your hearts:

To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things says he who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

And before the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel had lain down to sleep;

And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel until this day.
