And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD took away before them; and did wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:

And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

He removed the high places, and broke the images, and cut down the groves, and broke in pieces the brass serpent that Moses had made: for until those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.

And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:

Now it came to pass, after Amaziah had come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them.

But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of those who turn aside; it shall not cling to me.

You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of those who hate me;

And in all things that I have said to you be careful: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.

You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

They shall not dwell in your land, so that they do not make you sin against me: for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.

And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and scattered it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

Yet you have not walked according to their ways, nor done according to their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, you were corrupted more than they in all your ways.

Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall lay waste their images.

After the doings of the land of Egypt, in which you dwelt, shall you not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, to which I bring you, shall you not do: neither shall you walk in their ordinances.

You shall make for yourself no idols nor sculptured image, neither raise up a standing image, neither shall you set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am the LORD your God.

And they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

Then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and completely pull down all their high places:

And you shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and you shall cut down the sculptured images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

But thus shall you deal with them; you shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their sculptured images with fire.
