Exodus 22:7

If a man shall deliver to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or donkey, or sheep; he shall restore double.

If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns, so that the stacks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,

You shall not cheat your neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

If a soul sins, and commits a trespass against the LORD, and lies to his neighbor in that which was delivered to him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or has deceived his neighbor;

Or all that about which he has sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in full, and shall add the fifth part more to it, and give it to him to whom it belongs, in the day of his trespass offering.

This he said, not that he cared about the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and took what was put in it.

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
