And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek the idols, and the charmers, and those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.
Therefore do not listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon:
A man also or woman that has a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.
And the soul that turns after those who have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Many of them also which used occult practices brought their books together, and burned them before everyone: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
And the woman said to him, Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: why then do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
