And if a man borrows anything from his neighbor, and it be hurt, or dies, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.

There were also some that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute on our lands and vineyards.

The wicked borrows, and does not pay back: but the righteous shows mercy, and gives.

The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money to the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.

Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he has not put his hand to his neighbor’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.

If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

But if the owner thereof is with it, he shall not make it good: if it is a hired thing, it came for its hire.

And he that kills a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.

Give to him who asks you, and from him who would borrow from you turn not away.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing back; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind to the unthankful and to the evil.

And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD’S release.
