Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, Why do you deal thus with your servants?

And the amount of the bricks, which they did make beforehand, you shall lay upon them; you shall not diminish anything from it: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is overflowing; but who is able to stand before envy?

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians distressed us, and our fathers:

And the Egyptians treated us evil, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard labor:
