For this reason shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

And said, For this reason shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cling to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?

What? Do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For two, says he, shall be one flesh.

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
