Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done, and on the labor that I had labored to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Remember how short my time is: why have you made all men in vain?
And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.
What profit has a man from all his labor which he does under the sun?
What profit has he that works in that in which he labors?
He that loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loves abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
And this also is a great evil, that in all respects as he came, so shall he go: and what profit has he that has labored for the wind?
Behold, is it not from the LORD of hosts that the people shall labor in the consuming fire, and the people shall weary themselves for utter vanity?
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
