If the spirit of the ruler rises up against you, do not leave your place; for yielding pacifies great offenses.

A wrathful man stirs up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeases strife.

By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaks the bone.

There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceeds from the ruler:

Be not hasty to go out of his sight: do not persist in an evil thing; for he does whatever pleases him.
