Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this your so great a people?

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their kindred were at their commandment.

Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.

The labor of the foolish wearies every one of them, because he does not know how to go to the city.

Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

For your obedience has become known to everyone. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise in that which is good, and simple in evil.

Brethren, do not be children in understanding: however in malice you should be children, but in understanding you should be men.

If I sharpen my glittering sword, and my hand takes hold on judgment; I will return vengeance to my enemies, and will reward those who hate me.

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously, and does not criticize; and it shall be given him.
