For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, to which you go over Jordan to possess it.

In that I command you this day to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply: and the LORD your God shall bless you in the land to which you go to possess it.
And that their children, who have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land to which you go over Jordan to possess it.
You shall keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command you this day, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days upon the earth, which the LORD your God gives you, for ever.
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
And he humbled you, and permitted you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you did not know, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.
For bodily exercise profits little: but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise for the life that now is, and for that which is to come.
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
According as his divine power has given to us all things that concern life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who has called us to glory and virtue:
