For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
Therefore has the curse devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.
For Tophet is ordained from of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he has made it deep and large: there is a pile of fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, kindles it.
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, says the LORD who has mercy on you.
And you, even yourself, shall cease from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you do not know: for you have kindled a fire in my anger, which shall burn for ever.
Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: so that my fury does not come forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
The Lord has swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and has not pitied: he has thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; he has brought them down to the ground: he has polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
He has cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he has withdrawn his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devours round about.
He has bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand like an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
But she was plucked up in fury, she was thrown down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the rest of the heathen, and against all Idumea, who have allotted my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with spiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
Seek the LORD, and you shall live, so that he does not break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
Thus has the Lord GOD shown me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called for fire to dispute with them, and it devoured the great deep, and ate up a part of them.
And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be split, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a sudden end of all those who dwell in the land.
Therefore wait upon me, says the LORD, until the day that I rise up to take the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them my indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
And if your eye offends you, pluck it out, and throw it away from you: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be thrown into hell fire.
The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
