And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as you come to Zoar.
He restored the territory of Israel from the entering of Hamath to the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spoke by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gath-hepher.
Then he said to me, These waters flow out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and to the sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to Beth-jeshimoth; and from the south, under Ashdoth-pisgah:
And in the valley, Beth-aram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even to the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side of the Jordan eastward.
And the east border was the salt sea, even to the end of the Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the farthest part of the Jordan:
And the border passed along to the side of Beth-hoglah northward: and the border came out at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of the Jordan: this was the south border.
That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, ceased, and were cut off: and the people passed over opposite Jericho.
